My staff and I are moving ahead steadily with PS Comics #4. Expect its debut in April at the Stumptown Comics Fest in Portland. As you may remember, my Stumptown 2006 experience was slightly less than stellar, and you may be concerned about my decision to debut a new comic at such an unpopular and poorly trafficked event. However, I heard that Stumptown 2007 was way better than Stumptown 2006; let's hope it wasn't from a bunch of liars.

In further news, "Just This Side of Heaven" will be published in the next issue of the Black Warrior Review, a literary journal out of the University of Alabama. I am very honored to be included in this publication, as it seems to have a pretty fancy list of contributors. Be sure to pick up a copy in February. Thank you.

Good news, everyone: I won an Ignatz Award for "Most Outstanding Mini-Comic." It is quite an honor. As a result of this development, the heat is really on.

But that's not all! I have also been asked to participate in an art show at Pony Club in Portland. It's called "The New Year's Show" and, accordingly, will be up during the month of January. The show will feature my work alongside five or six other more talented cartoonists and artists. Please do check it out, if at all possible.

Oh no way! A new comics publisher called Secret Acres will be putting out the collected P.S. Comics in spring 2009! It seems like kind of a long way in the future, but I'm going to get some new stuff done before then, and the fellows at Secret Acres have some very wonderful cartoonists lined up. I'm proud to be a part of the gang.

Until that time, like I said earlier, I'll be at the Portland Zine Symposium next weekend and TCAF the weekend after that. Dear friends Jesse Reklaw and Andrice Arp are being nice enough to let Damien Jay and me stay with them and their cats Janet and Pickles (or is it Tyrese and Omega?) in Portland, and we'll get to table with the likes of Jon Lewis, Karen Sneider and Tom K in Toronto. I look forward to these events very much. Joey Sayers will also be staying at la casa de kitties in Portland, and together with Josh Frankel we're supposed to be creating some animated shorts for a venture called Trial Five. So far, though, Joey is the only one being useful in that area.

Anyway. Another day, another dollar. Mo' money, mo' problems.

Hey, what's new with you? Not much with me. Only that I've finished P.S. Comics #3!!! Oh yeah, you heard me. Please come visit me at MoCCA on June 23 and/or June 24 in NYC and I will show you this new comic. I will also show you my Lyme disease bull's eye rash. Just kidding, I don't have one of those! (although I recently hosted a deer tick.) If you cannot make it to MoCCA, and/or if you are Canadian, my new comic and my Lyme disease evidence will also be available at the rare and fleeting TCAF, which occurs August 18 and 19 in Toronto, which is not the capital of Canada.

Happy new year! Last year I was supposed to refrain from using cosmetics and toiletries that tested on animals, a resolution stolen from Emily Tipps. I did what I could. This year... (I'm coming up with it right now, just in time for February) I won't talk back to my mother. No! I'll make more of an effort to understand people. I think I really will this year. This is also a good resolution because I won't really be able to quantify it at the end of the year. Failure is in the eye of the loser.

Say hey, I got a new muse a few weeks ago. His name is Otis and he's a really cool guy. I hope to include him in comics soon. P.S. #3 is in the works and should be available at APE in April. I'll be sharing a table with
Damien Jay, Shannon O'Leary, and MariNaomi. They are all very beautiful people and I am lucky to be friends with them. Love them not just for their beauty but also for their comics.

I recently went to Portland to attend the Stumptown Comics Fest and, to be honest, I was a little disappointed. Where was everyone? I made a new comic for you people! It's called Just This Side of Heaven, and you can get it now if you PayPal me $2.00. I'll put pages from it up on the site soon, but not right this minute. Sorry.

But hey here's something! Pet Noir is now available on amazon.com! And don't forget that there is FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25. Do not let such a super-saving opportunity pass you by. There will be a release party on December 5 at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. I certainly hope you will attend.

I'm sorry. I've been busy. But I'm going to be at the SF Zine Fest this weekend, with Damien Jay and the gang from Pet Noir. Hey, speaking of... I'm going to have a story in Pet Noir 2, available in October (?) 2006 from Manic D Press. Other Bay Area contributors that I am familiar with include: Alixopulos, John Isaacson, Lark Pien, Shannon O'Leary, Mari Naomi, and the aforelinked Damien Jay. I hope you will purchase and enjoy this item and also come to the Zine Fest. Please!

In non-comics news, Lucy Fourpaws went over Rainbow Bridge on June 11, 2006. She was apparently holding out for one last MoCCA. Goodbye, little dog.

So I've gotten a lot of email asking me when I am going to have P.S. Comics #3 available, and when I'm going to tell everyone about my trip to the hotel upon which The Shining is based. I'm talking a TON of email. Since it's physically impossible to get back to all my fan mail, I'll just tell you here exactly what the holdup is: I haven't been to this hotel yet, so I can't very well draw about my trip there at this point. I'm going to Colorado this weekend, though, and hopefully Emily Tipps and I will make some comics magic, Stanley Hotel-style. After that, I'll be at APE at the Global Hobo table. I'll be the one in the cape and the thong (and the yorkie t-shirt, if things go as planned).

Just a shout out to all my homies on planet earth: I will be attending the SF Zine Fest with Gabe Crate as well as SPX with Travis Nichols. I would love to meet you and sign your boobs at one of these events. Additionally, I would like to inform you that I have some work in the anthology Laugh Riot, available through Flophouse Comics. Other contributors include Johnny Ryan, Evan Dorkin, Michael Kupperman, Pete Sickman-Garner, Gabe Crate and the great Neil Hamburger. If you have decided that you are not interested in my comics, surely you will find one of these other talented cartoonists more to your liking.

As you may have noticed, I am not a diligent updater of this thing. I went to the Alternative Press Expo last weekend and good things happened. Some people bought some stuff and some people liked some stuff and I bought some stuff I liked. I managed to finish a new comic (Donuts for Lunch) in the few days before the event and the event itself has motivated me to do more. But first I must do taxes. Thanks to those who visited my table and bought my comics. I love you with my heart and soul. Will you be my valentine?

I made a two-page comic for Jigsaw. It's a zine thing that comes out of Denver/Boulder and you should check it out. I'll post the comic to the website soon, but you should get it direct from the source anyway, even if you don't live in Colorado. ALSO, if you want to check it out, my buddy at SPX put up a jam comic he started there. As you can see, the story dangles with me.

News is running low. I had some news that I was going to be at SPX in Bethesda, but that's over now. I hope I saw you there. I'll try to make some more urgent news soon. I just updated this website to include buying powers and am hoping to have more stories to post soon.
